Only a few pharmacies are lucky enough to remain in the ownership of the same family for decades and generations and to be managed by them with a great passion for their profession. The pharmacy Braun Apotheke in Lustenau is a rare example of this. This book tells the story behind this Lustenau-based institution. It tells the story of how the market town once established its first public pharmacy despite fierce opposition, how Karl Braun founded the tradition of being a pharmacist within his family back in the mid-1920s and how his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren continue to enjoy working in the laboratory and pharmacy to the present day. After I had the honour of designing the book for the pharmacy Stadtapotheke Bregenz (run by Karl Braun's brother Werner Braun) in 2015, it was a particular challenge to detail the differences between the pharmacies. As the author Friederike Hehle chose a completely different approach for this company chronicle than for the chronicle for Bregenz, it was no problem to find an equally distinct graphic concept.
