Book of Spams
Although the term “spam” has a different origin, it has become known to us all, at the latest, since the advent of unsolicited advertising emails. I have been exploring this topic in my art for several years now. In addition to painting, I prefer to use woodcuts and linocuts. The highpoint of this group of works so far has been the presentation of the Book of Spams in November 2011 in the Museum für Druckgrafik in Rankweil. It was the third book to appear in the Edition Markus Gell. All the illustrations and texts were cut in linoleum and then printed by hand. Peter Köll from Innsbruck was responsible for binding the book.
